Completely different from a music festival, the Fête de la Musique is above all a free popular fête, open to any participant (amateur or professional musicians) who wants to perform in it. This Music day allows the expression of all styles of music in a cheerful atmosphere. It aims at a large audience, working to popularize musical practice for young and not so young people from all social backgrounds. It gives an opportunity to communicate and share a very special moment through music. The musicians are asked to perform for free, and all the concerts are free for the public. It’s the reason why they are used to play in open air areas as streets and parks or in public buildings like museums, train stations, castle. Furthermore, the Fête de la Musique is a way to encourage the major music institutions (orchestra, operas, choirs, etc.) to perform outside their usual locations. This kind of institutions can also welcome other types of music. In this way it offers an opportunity to develop exchanges between city centers and their outlying areas, to offer concerts in hospitals or in prisons, to promote encounters and exchanges between young musicians and well-known talents.

Ski

If something beautiful has happened to me in the last few years then it was the two ski sessions. These were few of the moments that I will cherish throughout my life. Someone had rightly said that if there is a heaven on this earth it is in Switzerland. Black and white pictures are generally considered gloomy and I had been many a time criticized for using these colors in my paintings a little too much. But Blue, black and white three of my most favorite colors could be seen in good harmony in those mountains.

Last time the instructor was a bit too interested in the German girl, Katya who was katting and eating all our time. We were the poor people who had to learn on our own. This time I was hoping for a better instructor. We had a little time so I bought a sandwich, brownie and a coke. Skiing can be very demanding in terms of calorie requirement and I didn’t want to take any chance. I had eaten a lot before boarding the train but a little calculation on my pocket calculator convinced me that it wasn’t enough. Anothai started shouting «only seven minutes are left and the instructor has arrived we should go ». Half heartedly I wrapped the sandwich and brownie in a paper and kept it with Adam. Who knows the restaurant could be close by the time I finish my lesson. We reached the spot. This time I was fortunate to get a female instructor. She never shouted at me (honestly speaking she yelled only once when I was so relaxed that I started sitting on the lift which was not meant to be burdened with the butt) but rather explained all the technicalities of sking. Later on I came to know that it was Anothai who had to bear the scourge . Anothai was so much afraid of the instructor that she was hiding herself from her after the ski session. After the instruction session was over I was very happy as I could then go down and finish my half eaten stuffs but destiny had decided something else for me. I couldn’t find Adam anywhere. He was skiing high up in the mountains. So, we went to the restaurant and took one more coke. I was excited to put to use what I had learn. The second session finally started. I wanted to go further up the slope we were using until then but the thought of Natalia and her plastered leg would try to restrain me and then the laughing face of Jerome will appear and compel me to go for it. It was a constant conflict between Natalia and Jerome and the one who was suffering the most was the most innocent creature on this earth, adil, who until then knew only to to eat and sleep. I went higher and higher and ultimately encountered a very steep slope in the end. I couldn’t see Anothai and Adam. I was just thinking of taking out my ski and walking down quietly when a girls asked me “Are you afraid ?”. “Absolutely not. Why should I be ?” I retorted angrily. My situation was very similar to Mr. Bean trying to jump into the swimming pool. I was cursing Jerome because it was he who put me in the trouble. But then I had my dignity at stake. I started with the girl. I was gaining momentum but loosing control over the ski. I went down and down but never fell. In the end I got the complement “You are a good skier. When did you learn it ?” I smiled and lied “when I was 6 years old.” “Then better learn to take turns as well.” and she gave a cute ugly smile parted away. It was only after a careful analysis that I realized she was making fun of me.It was the end of the show. I met a really nice guy Adam. Although Anothai had introduced me to him in Decembers it was only yesterday that we became good friends. And if today I have a neck between my body and my face then it is just because of Adam. I will always remember Adam when I see myself in a mirror.

Moral of the story: Take care of your neck when you go to ski. Try to wear a neck guard (if something by this name exists).
Thanx for reading this abnormally long crap. But that is my way of writing whether it is a report or a mail.
