Lac de Joux in the Jura mountains in Vaud canton is located at 1000 metres in the valley of the same name (Vallée de Joux). The stark beauty and unspoilt nature of the high valley and the lake attract countless visitors all year round, in summer mainly for water sports, biking and hiking and in winter for ice-skating and cross-country skiing.

I took the train from Tallinn to Riga at 12:30 am. The journey was of five hours and I was supposed to step down at Riga coach station. However, it was too early to get up 
and I ended up at the airport. The first bus to the coach station was at 5:45 so I had to wait for another 40 minutes. I didn’t have any Latvian currency and I had no idea about the exchange rate.

Helsinki-Tallinn-Riga trip was without any doubt the most organized trip of my life. The planning started about 2-3 months in advance. The mastermind behind the most part of the trip was our dear sister Anothai. She locked the trip by booking non-refundable tickets of flights to and from Helsinki.
